Instructions/Information

NEW THIS SEASON -

Age groups are mandated by from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), US Youth Soccer (USYS) and adopted by TN State Soccer (TSSA).  Effective 2016, all age divisions are based on birth year.

Murfreesboro Soccer Club in its’ efforts to create balanced teams within the recreational program, will be holding a player assessment day for all players age U10 – U19.  Age group commissioners will use this information to assist them when forming teams along with the players experience level, school or select team play, age of player (for combined age groups), gender (for coed teams) and self-evaluation reported during player registration.  It is our goal to equalize teams to provide a better environment and more enjoyable season for all MSC recreational players.

The U13/U14 age group will now be a coed age group.  We anticipate that there will be 6 – 8 coed teams formed.  If enough players register to enable the creation of a separate boys and girls division, we will not have coed teams.   During the last several seasons, player numbers in this age group vary drastically from season to season due to participation in school soccer.  The Club is trying to find a solution to maintain consistency within the age group to adjust for these fluctuations.


SPRING SEASON INFORMATION

Minimum Age Requirement:  Players must be born in 2013 to be eligible to play.  During the spring season ONLY, we will extend the birth year eligibility to include January – March 2014 birthdates.

Teams are formed for the following age groups:
U5 coed, U6 coed, U7 and U8 (Birth years 2013 – 2010)

 
These age groups are on combined teams:
U9/U10 (2008-2009), U11/U12 (2007-2006), U13/U14 coed (2005-2004), U15-U19 coed (2003-2000)

 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration Fees
U5                                $65.00 Per season
U6 to U19                   $90.00 Per season

Players will be placed on the same team that they were on for the fall 2017 season.  If you wish to change teams, you must submit a request to your age group commissioner.  If you are assigned to a different team, you will be charged transfer fee of $20 to cover the cost of a new jersey.  YOU MUST REGISTER BY 1/31/2018 FOR GUARANTEED PLACEMENT ON THE SAME TEAM.  Players returning from the fall 2017 season will wear the same jersey and socks.  Replacement fee of $20 will be charged if uniform needs to be replaced. 

12/15/2017 - Early Bird Online Registration deadline
1/20/2018 - In-Person Registration Date,  9am - 1pm at Siegel Soccer Park
1/31/2018 - Standard Online Registration ends
2/01/2018 - Late Online Registration (will incur late charge) begins
2/15/2018 - Late Registration ends.  Online registration is closed.

AFTER 2/15/2018, REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON A SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS.

2/27/2018 -   Coaches will not start calling players until AFTER this date.  PLEASE NOTE:  Contact to parents may be delayed while coaches are still being assigned to teams. 

PLEASE NOTE: SOME AGE GROUPS MAY REACH CAPACITY PRIOR TO THE LAST REGISTRATION DATE.  A WAIT LIST REGISTRATION WILL BE IMPLEMENTED IN THOSE CASES.


PLAYING UP – All requests to play up in an age group should be submitted to your age group commissioner.  Commissioners will review and approve requests on a case by case basis.

Please consider where your child’s birthdate places them before making request to have them play up in age.

On age U6 players will play up to the U7 age group
On age U7 players will play up to the U8 age group
On age U8 players will play up to the U9/U10 age group
On age U9/U10 players will play up to the U11/U12 age group
On age U11/U12 players will play up to the U13/U14 age group
On age U13/U14 players will play up to the U19 age group

SPECIAL REQUESTS – MSC will NOT grant requests for coaches, practice nights, buddies, car pool or other requests to be placed on a specific team.  Guaranteed placement will only be for Coach, 1 Assistant Coach, Individual Team Sponsor or Siblings.

 

COACHES:  Returning coaches will need to register as a volunteer again for the spring season.  You will NOT have to complete the online disclosure again. To be placed with your same team, volunteer registration must be completed by 1/31/2018.

 

PRACTICES:

Practices will Begin week of March 5, 2018 (ESTIMATED START DATE, ACTUAL DATES TO BE DETERMINED).

U5 Teams will practice on Monday (5-6pm) OR (6-7pm) - Volunteer coaches choice)

U6 Teams will practice on Tuesday (5-6pm) OR Thursday (6-7pm) Volunteer coaches choice.

U7 Teams will practice on Tuesday (6-7pm) OR Thursday (5-6pm) Volunteer coaches choice.

U8 BOYS Teams will practice on Monday (5-6:15pm) AND Thursday (6:15-7:30pm)

U8 GIRLS Teams will practice on Monday (6:15-7:30pm) AND Thursday (5-6:15pm)

U5 – U7 practices will be balanced between both practice nights.

FOR ALL OTHER AGE GROUPS (U10 – U19), THE PRACTICE DAY AND TIME IS SELECTED BY EACH INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER COACH.  TEAM PRACTICES COULD POTENTIALLY BE SCHEDULED ON ANY DAY MONDAY – FRIDAY.  SPECIFIC PRACTICE REQUESTS BY PLAYERS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.  IF YOUR CHILD CAN ONLY PRACTICE ON PARTICULAR DAYS, THE PARENT SHOULD VOLUNTEER TO COACH THE TEAM AS THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GUARANTEE A PRACTICE DAY.

City of Murfreesboro Parks and Rec Dept. determines the usage of all park facilities. Alternate practices facilities outside of Siegel Soccer Park or Jordan Farm Fields may be assigned by P & R as needed.

GAME SCHEDULE:  (ALL DATES ARE ESTIMATED.  FINAL DATES ARE TBD)

First games: March 17, 2018

First U19 games: March 19, 2018

No games: March 31, 2018   (Rutherford County Schools Spring Break)

No games: April 7, 2018   (MSC Bash in the Boro Tournament

Last games/Jamboree: May 12, 2018 (Jamboree game schedule will be provided at a later date)

Rainout date:  May 19, 2018 (RAINOUT DATES ARE ONLY USED IF NEEDED)

One double header will be played during the season for U6 - U14 teams.

One weeknight game will be played during the season for U6 – U14 teams.

U19 teams will play primarily on Monday nights, with a few games on Saturday.   

EQUIPMENT - All players will need a soccer ball, shin guards, black shorts and either soccer cleats (Recommended) or tennis shoes.  Players will NOT be able to wear baseball, football or other cleats with a “toe cleat”.  Players who did not play during the fall season will be provided with jersey and socks.

Players playing both fall 2017 and spring 2018 seasons will need to keep their uniform.  Replacement fee will be charged if uniform needs to be replaced.

JEWELRY POLICY- Absolutely no jewelry is allowed during soccer games. This includes but is not limited to earrings, facial piercings, bracelets of any kind, rubber bands around wrist and necklaces.  NO hard hair accessories allowed.  Piercings may NOT be covered with a bandage.

TROPHIES:

MSC will hold an end of season festival each spring, on the last day of regular scheduled games.  A parade in the stadium, bounce houses, DJ and giveaways will be part of this event.  We will also award medals to ALL players during the event.
Additional trophies are awarded at the discretion of each individual team. Any coach or individual parent may coordinate the ordering of trophies/medals for their team. Cost should be agreed upon by parents of the team and should be collected in advance of ordering.

Team end of season parties are also held at the discretion of the individual teams.

All registrations will be completed via computer whether done at home or at in-person registration. You may register online with credit/debit card.  Payments by check or cash may be brought to the MSC office or paid during in-person registration on 1/20/2018 from 9am - 1pm

Winter Training Program 2017

Winter Training Program for U6 through U8 Boys and Girls

Middle TN Super F League and Murfreesboro Soccer Club are proud to offer a Winter Training Program for Boys and Girls in the U6 through U8 age groups.

Training sessions will be conducted by Mike Smith who will be in charge of the U6 - U7 program, and Matt Manning who will be in charge of the U8 program.

Players will train on Friday evenings at the Oakland High School Indoor Facility from 5:30 - 6:30pm.

Scrimmages will be held on Saturday Mornings in a 4v4 game format.  U6 and U7's will play from 7:15am - 8:15am.  U8's will play from 8:20am until 9:20am.

Dates for Training will be:  Friday,  Jan 12th, 19th, 26th, Feb 2nd and 9th.

Dates for Scrimmages will be:  Saturday Jan 13th, 20th, 27th, Feb 3rd and Feb 10th.

Each player will need to wear a white T-shirt for the Saturday scrimmages.  Shin guards are required.  Regular cleats may be worn at the indoor facility.

All training and scrimmages will take place at the Oakland High School Indoor Facility. Address:  2225 Patriot Dr.

Cost: $70 per player.

Due to space availability, we are only able to accept 28 players for the U6/U7 age group and 28 for the U8 age group.

Due to the limited number of openings for this program, refunds will be not given in the event of a cancellation request.  Consideration may be given if cancellation is a result of an injury that would prevent a player from participating.
